Llangattock Church in Wales Primary School

7th February 2026

Primary

The Prayer Spaces in Schools event ran across two days, accommodating the whole school from Year 6 down to the early years. Each child had the opportunity to explore at their own pace and the overarching theme was Story — encouraging pupils to discover their place within the Christmas story and reflect on their own lives, feelings, and faith.

Before each session, the Christmas story was shared with the children to provide a framework for the stations. This helped older pupils reflect independently and supported younger pupils who couldn’t yet read the station instructions.

Older pupils were able to read the reflective prompts and work through the stations independently, with stations being gently adapted for younger pupils using more visuals, simplified wording, and hands-on activities. This ensured that every child, whatever their age, could experience the activities meaningfully.

Pupils were calm, engaged, and thoughtful throughout. The storytelling helped younger pupils understand and participate and older pupils appreciated the reflective independence the stations provided. The closing moment with tea lights and bubbles created a peaceful, memorable atmosphere, with staff noting the creativity, gentleness, and depth of the experience.

Overall, the Prayer Spaces event provided a rich, creative, and meaningful experience for all pupils. The combination of storytelling, reflection, and hands-on activities made the Christmas story accessible and engaging for every age group. The extremely positive feedback from staff and children demonstrates the value of the Prayer Spaces and the impact they had on learners across the school.
