This activity invites pupils to think about things that are happening around the world. Then encourages the pupils to turn on one of the battery tea-lights or use a glass bead, and then place it on the country that they’ve chosen. If they want to, they can say a silent prayer for God’s light to shine where there is the darkness in the world.
This prayer activity can be used as part of a Global Week of Prayer set. Last year saw the first ever Global Week of Prayer. Over 140 Nations prayed in 2,365 prayer rooms non-stop, 24 hours a day for a whole week!
This year it’s happening again between 6th – 13th September 2026. You can view our Prayer Spaces in Schools Set here.
The Global Week of Prayer set holds specially made activities using the same themes as Global Week of Prayer
